
​Naturkakao's story begins at the MarÃa del Carmen Farm located in northern Guatemala. This farm has been dedicated to raising cattle for the past three decades. Due to unstable cattle prices, the idea arose to change the land use to a more profitable, job-creating, and environmentally friendly crop. After studying several options, the decision was made to undertake the development of a cacao agroforestry project. The first plants were planted in 2013, and the company currently processes all the beans in its own facilities and markets them directly to the chocolate industry.

To produce premium, fine cocoa using models that support socioeconomic development and environmental regeneration, to satisfy the most demanding cocoa customers in terms of flavor, aroma, social responsibility, and environmental awareness.
